Memorial Day

Memorial Day

One summer in middle school I went on a class trip to Washington, D.C. I was excited to see the nation’s capital and see the presidential monuments. However, what struck me the most from that trip, and every trip since, were the solemn monuments to the Vietnam and Korean Wars, and then the World War II Memorial. They are incredible remembrances to many of those that have given the ultimate sacrifice to protect us and our freedoms. No monuments, memorials, parades, or speeches are ever enough to express what those men and women mean to this this country, but that shouldn’t stop us from trying. Thank you for everything you’ve done for us and this country.
